Add some fun to your summer soirées!
If you’re deep into the world of tablescaping, you should know that the centerpiece is one of the most important parts of the whole scape. The centerpiece can either make or break your whole table—a great centerpiece can provide harmony and tie your entire look together, while a bad one will demand attention… and not in a good way.
So usher in a new season with these gorgeous centerpieces that are sure to make your tablescapes the talk of the town. From summery florals to themed decorations, let these amazing ideas inspire you to take your scapes to the next level!
The summer months are in no shortage of fresh blooms for your table! Keep the looks airy and fresh to go with the warm temperatures and use either bright and vivid colors, or soft and pretty pastels, to really bring attention to the changing of the seasons.
I love this wild and organic centerpiece with its bold pink and red hues. To keep things fresh, use large blooms like peonies and hydrangeas which are abundant all throughout the season.
Nothing says summer like a bouquet of sunflowers at the center of your table! Keep the look sunny with warm yellows and vivid greens. The more informal nature of summer gatherings also means that you can get away with wilder, messier centerpieces in varying heights and textures.
Weed it out
Weeds are a fantastic and cheap way to get some summer onto your table! Their delicate nature is absolutely perfect for rustic chic looks, and since they’re pretty much available everywhere they’ve become my favorite eco-friendly way to decorate this season.
Cattails, dandelions, and other reedy plants bring the warm green meadow to your table! Complete this look by using a low wooden planter box instead of the traditional vase to really bring the rustic theme to mind.
Call me cacti
Desert plants are absolutely perfect for the summer months. While different varieties of cacti (and succulents) add varying heights and textures to your table, make sure to break up the monochromatic look by using other elements in brighter colors.
I’m in love with this Mexican-inspired look with its bright colors: from the fresh blooms to the striped tablecloth and the miniature piñata. Tie the look together by using one color for your pots—in this case gold—while adding neutral elements like glass to keep it interesting.
The color story
Bright colors always scream “summer” to me! Add elements of bright and neon in your tablescapes to create sizzling looks worthy of your social media feed.
Taper candles are such a great way to add color (and mood lighting) to your tablescape. Go one step further and set your look apart by using an array of them for your centerpiece, all in different colors of course. Bonus points if they’re all in varying heights to add some visual interest to your scape!
