Perfect for your next summer soirée!
As you all know, my latest obsession is anything to do with citrus. In my previous article I mentioned that aside from all the pretty things you can do with citrus, having fruits like lemons and oranges on your table also makes it smell amazing. Imagine spending a warm summer night under the stars while a citrus-scented breeze gently wafts over you… that’s what I’m daydreaming right now (in my dream I also have an ice cold drink in hand).
Anyway, I’ve been setting about turning this dream into reality for some time now, and while browsing through some citrus inspo I came across an amazing project: DIY citrus candles! Seriously, why haven’t I thought of these before? I love love LOVE candles and how romantic they look on a table, but these take the cake for smelling subtly fruity as well! Plus, you can’t deny that these look so absolutely stunning that they can act as a standalone centerpiece.
These are fairly easy (and inexpensive) to make as well, and so if you have time over the coming weekend I urge you all to give them a shot!
Lemons and limes
Oranges and tangerines
You can use all sorts of citrus fruits for this DIY! I love the idea of mixing them up to give more texture and color to your table. BTW, instead of using beeswax melts, you can also repurpose votive candles by cutting out the wicks first then melting the wax to pour.
Play around with this fun little project. Personally, I’d love to use colored wax to make them look bolder and brighter. I’ll also experiment by adding essential oils like orange and lemon to make a more intense smell. Tell me what you think!
