Change the way you eat!
After a recent trip to a Japanese restaurant, I’ve become super obsessed with chopsticks. There’s just something about eating with chopsticks that looks so elegant, cultured, and refined. Also, I’m a firm believer that eating Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese food with plain ole utensils tastes wrong somehow. Tell me that I’m not the only one who feels this way!
While I’ve yet to throw a sushi bash that involves laying out the chopsticks, I’ve already dug deep into my tablescaping cupboard to dust off the pairs I stored years ago, and I’m having so much fun incorporating them into my tables and meals! As of right now, I’m debating whether or not it’s worth it to buy a few more pairs to update my collection.
But while I’m deciding on it, I also feel the need to check out the chopsticks that I can find on Amazon. After all, I’m crazy about online shopping and buying chopsticks is no exception to that! And since I love to share everything I’m thinking about with you all, here’s a short list of all the chopsticks that are currently in my mind (and in my shopping cart)!
P.S. This isn’t exactly a wish list, as I’ve included things that I would probably never buy for myself but are super useful to have (portable chopsticks, I’m looking at you).
The best chopsticks for daily dining
This set of 10 pairs of chopsticks includes both metal and bamboo options, so you’ll never run out of choices! Both options have a nice weighty feel to them, and they have excellent gripping power (great news for those of us who aren’t super adept at eating with chopsticks). I love that these are dishwasher-safe as well, making them a fantastic option for your daily needs.
If you’re searching for a no nonsense, reusable chopstick set, then look no further than this dishwasher-safe and stainless steel option by Devico! They’re quite light, but don’t let that deter you: they’re very durable and hold up through numerous dishwasher cycles.
As a cheaper option, look into this stainless steel metal chopsticks set by Omia, which is roughly half the price of the previous suggestion. They’re slightly more textured and around an inch shorter, making them a great starting point for a beginner chopstick user.
The best chopsticks for entertaining
Top pick: Hiware fiberglass chopsticks
Impress your guests with this sleek black chopsticks set made out of fiberglass! These have a gorgeous etched design at one end, and a textured tip which makes it easy to grip food. They also hold up well in the dishwasher, but make sure to check for any chips on the tips before using—fiberglass options tend to be more finicky than their metal or wooden counterparts.
Don’t hesitate to pull the trigger on these beautiful fiberglass chopsticks, despite reviews saying that they aren’t dishwasher-safe. Like most other fiberglass options, these have a non-slip tip to help grip food better, but what sets these chopsticks apart are the gorgeous designs that make them look more expensive than their $9.99 price tag!
If you’re hell bent on not washing your chopsticks by hand, then get this multicolored option by Annvchi instead! Its designs are just as pretty, but these can safely be placed in the dishwasher without ruining the set.
Go for gold (or rainbow) with this gorgeous multicolored chopsticks set that comes in stainless steel for easy cleaning! Unlike fiberglass chopsticks, stainless steel utensils are always dishwasher-safe, which makes them an excellent choice for entertaining guests. The rainbow colors will also make sure your tablescape stands out—quite a grand feat considering these cost a measly $12.99 for 5 pairs.
The best chopsticks for travel
Top pick: finessCity titanium chopsticks with case
Okay, this is quite a cop out considering I only have this one pick for a portable set of chopsticks. But I can’t help myself when this is the clear winner! This is made out of food grade titanium and is super easy to clean and store. Plus, it comes with a pretty sleek aluminum case, making it perfect for your next sushi-and-camping trip.
The best chopsticks for beginners
Top pick: Senior ICare adult training chopsticks
New to chopsticks and need a hand? Whether or not you’re a beginner to the fine art of eating with chopsticks, or you just need some help eating Asian food, these training chopsticks are a great option to use without drawing attention to yourself!
Unfortunately, adult training chopstick options are few and far in between since most training chopsticks are kid-friendly and come with silly cartoons or animals. This is the best option I’ve found for something discreet, elegant, and still supremely useful—it’s lightweight, easy to clean, and is usable for both left and right handed individuals.
Speaking of kid-friendly options, aren’t these training chopsticks for kids cute? These are definitely a must for any parent who wants to teach their children the art of eating with chopsticks, especially since it does so in such a fun and entertaining way!
The best chopsticks to give as gifts
Top pick: Ryu Mei Japanese rabbit chopstick box
As a gift option for Christmas, I’m looking to this set of lacquered wooden chopsticks with a cute rabbit design and a carrying case. They’re easy to use with amazing grip, and the design is well made and won’t be in danger of peeling anytime soon. Unfortunately, they recommend to hand wash the set, but at only $6.64, these would make an excellent stocking stuffer for anyone!
For something a little more practical, try these pretty stainless steel chopsticks that are dishwasher-safe! These have a beautiful blossom design on one end, while the tip is threaded for extra grip. I also love that these are lightweight and not too long at 8.8″, making them easier to handle than most other chopsticks.
This is definitely the gift to buy for a friend who’s picky about design. This sleek and modern chopstick comes in a beautiful gold and black color scheme, which looks amazing on any table. The black end is matte which is a cool contrast to the glossy, shiny gold on the tip, but have no fear because these are still dishwasher-friendly! My only gripe is that the reviews say they are quite slippery, but I’m willing to overlook that flaw for these stylish beauties.
Go above and beyond for the holidays with this super cool wooden chopsticks set with a carved dragon and phoenix design. These are made out of chestnut wood, and have a natural dark and glossy finish which I love. They also come in a beautiful box along with a pouch, which makes for a very elegant stocking stuffer, if you ask me.
For a more practical and pragmatic wooden chopsticks option, look towards this beautiful set that comes with different colored chopsticks. Each pair is made out of a different type of wood, lending to the natural variations in color. The ridges on the top half makes them easier to grip, while the natural grain on the wood keeps food in place. At $10.99 for a set of 5 pairs, you really can’t go wrong!
