Casual doesn’t have to mean boring!
While tablescaping as an art is almost always reserved for special occasions, I firmly believe that every day and every meal should be made special with gorgeous place settings. But of course, I also understand that not everybody has the time to recreate fancy, over-the-top settings, and that’s okay! Casual settings, whether for your everyday meals or for casual gatherings with your loved ones, can be just as interesting and SO much easier to recreate. So read on because I’m here to show you that you don’t need to go all out to make each meal a meal to remember!
White tables are so refreshing to look at, and are super simple to create. Since the most basic tableware sets come in white, you can mix and match everything while still keeping it all looking put-together and color-coordinated!
Isn’t this table SO simple yet so refreshing? I love its almost all-white palette with the exception of the gorgeous, yet still simple, centerpiece. Recreate this look by using white plateware and placemats, and add gorgeous fresh blooms at the center for a fuss-free table.
To dress up a plain white table a little more, I suggest using stacked plates and simple patterned linens, like in this example. This look is still easy to recreate but is just a touch more formal than the first table.
All you need are flowers
Fresh blooms are a welcome addition to any tablescape! To save some money, try and keep your centerpiece(s) neutral and matching to the tone of your home, so that they can double as decorating pieces when each meal is over!
Farmhouse chic meets suburbia with this gorgeous table! A beautiful jute runner, some trinkets—like a lantern and a few candles—plus beautiful blooms in a plain ceramic pitcher make for a very casual, yet put-together, tablescape that I absolutely adore.
Step it up a bit with this gorgeous eclectic tablescape idea! Forgo the tablecloth and use a table runner to keep the look more casual, but don’t forget a huge batch of fresh flowers to keep things beautiful. If you don’t keep fresh flowers on hand (because LOL, I definitely don’t), the gorgeous designs on the plateware work as a standalone look. Just make sure to add another focal point in lieu of your flowers like a beautiful vase or a fun little ceramic figurine.
Add some texture
The best, and easiest, way to keep a table looking awesome, casual, AND under budget? Textured chargers!!! Seriously, these bad boys can change up your look in under 5 minutes, PLUS there are so many cheap ones to choose from—hello, Amazon!—that you can’t go wrong!
Okay, I’m definitely digging this cute, color-coordinated table in shades of blue and white. Add some amazing metal chargers and you’ll be all set!
Woven chargers are so perfect for summer and they add so much interest to the table! Just top the look off with some basic white tableware and your go-to casual summer scape is complete!
