The baby fever is real!
It’s baby season and there are TONS of things on my checklist. First and foremost, I plan to celebrate with my mommy-friends-to-be and throw the most adorable baby shower ever! But from food, to the guest list, to the gifts: there are just so many little details I’ve begun to worry about. So I’m checking one item off my list by doing what I love the most and figuring out my party décor early! Since my friends are more of the understated type, this post will focus less on the kitsch and the kiddy and more on the glam. I’m obsessing over all things tropical as well and I’ve been pinning a bunch of inspo on my Pinterest, so here are a few of my favorite looks!
Pops of color
Keep your look beachy and gender neutral with this gorgeous Mexican-inspired tablescape! Aqua blue is so beautiful when set against pops of fuschia and orange. I love the glass terrariums and individual plants on each setting that add texture to your table and double as fun party favors! Tie the whole tablescape together by using bright gold flatware to contrast with the neon colors for a more elegant arrangement.
This tablescape is perfect for a chic mom-to-be. Details such as black and white stripes and gold accents are so glamorous against dark green foliage—use small ferns and big monstera leaves to keep the tropical theme in mind. Keep the place settings simple and yet within the same color scheme with gold chargers and smaller striped napkins.
Pineapples and papayas
I’m in love with this beachy look! Simple settings with mismatched chargers are perfect for more informal affairs, while the round palm leaf plates topped with tied napkins give such a tropical vibe to the whole table. Large palm leaves act as cheap and easy-to-source runners, and pineapples and cut papayas down the length of the table provide visual contrast to a monochromatic palette.
Paint it pretty
Keep everything pastel pretty with a coat of paint! How cute is this mint green and light pink palette with touches of white? Use fresh tropical leaves at the center of the table topped with leaves dipped in paint for a gorgeous summer-ready contrast. Keep the rest of the tablescape simple in colors of black and gray to prevent the look from becoming too busy, and tie the setting together by using pastel napkins in your chosen color scheme!
Yellow is the perfect choice for a happy, gender-neutral color! Add pops of the hue along your table with various fresh blooms—I love the mix of reds, pinks, and oranges in this arrangement. Glass plates and mismatched glassware in fun prints give a summery vibe to the entire look, and the napkins in leaf prints are such easy ways to bring the tropical theme to your tablescape!
Who says a neutral palette can’t be tropical? Create a beach-ready tablescape with light colors, such as white and light peach like in this gorgeous example. Keep the décor simple and in the same palette—a white jute runner is the perfect way to add a coastal vibe to your minimalist table, and natural woven rattan candleholders and white bouquets look airy and fresh! Finish the look off and add pops of color with bright vintage glasses.
