The year is half over, and I don’t know about you but I’ve pretty much forgotten about my New Year’s resolution(s). This year, I vowed to work on myself—I promised myself that this year is the year to start prioritizing my health! After all, I’m not getting any younger. I also took my resolution a step further by including an environmental clause as well. After all, I do believe that you can’t be truly healthy without a healthy planet to live in!
But better late than never right? With half the year left and no more excuses to give, I’m overhauling my life starting with my table decorations! In my opinion, there’s no better way to end the year than with tablescapes that not only look great but make me feel great as well! So join me in this eco-craze and get inspired by these beautiful, and environmentally-friendly, table ideas!
Take inspiration from this gorgeous tablescape with its fresh fruit runner! While this is definitely a summery tablescape idea, you can make it seasonally-appropriate by using any fresh fruits available. Bonus points if you source them locally to reduce your carbon footprint! You can also ditch the fruits completely and go with veggie-themed décor. I think this would look equally as amazing with mixed greens and colored leaf vegetables!
If fruits and vegetables aren’t your thing, another great—and natural—option is to use potted herbs down the length of your table. Not only does this provide a beautiful and simple way to decorate, but it smells great as well! I love how the herbs are at the center of attention in this example; imitate this breezy look by keeping the rest of the table simple with a crisp white palette.
A healthy affair
Save on the effort and make place cards that double as party favors! This tablescape keeps it healthy and eco-chic by using lettuce in metal pots, but succulents, herbs, and small plants would work just as well. Keep the whole look rustic and environmentally-friendly by using simple plateware and unbleached linen napkins.
A touch of boho
Remind your guests to reduce, reuse, and recycle with this gorgeous recycled centerpiece. Use washed glass bottles of various shapes and sizes to create easy and budget-friendly flower vases or candle holders. Don’t feel the need to stick to a monochromatic color palette as well; I think this would look amazing with different colored beer and wine bottles scattered around the table.
It’s all in the setting
Small details can really make a big impact, as shown by this beautiful eco-friendly tablescape. Instead of using traditional tableware, this arrangement uses pressed palm leaf plates which are biodegradable and compostable. If you want to take it a step further, disregard the tablecloth—it saves on the washing and it ties the whole look together!
