Happy Independence Day!
Can you believe we’re almost halfway done with the year? It’s like I blinked and six months flew by just like that. Pretty soon it will be holiday season, and that means more parties (and more table decorations) to come!
Right now we’re getting to one of the biggest holidays of the year, and it’s absolutely the perfect time to throw a party! I love the patriotic and celebratory theme, so I’m definitely breaking out all my reds, whites, and blues to create an extra memorable table for my mid-summer fête (and I suggest you do the same).
To help you with your planning, I’ve curated four of the best tables and ideas around to get you and your guests into the celebratory mood. Read on below and don’t forget to tell me what you think!
No flags required
Do away with the American-themed décor and set a lovely, vintage-inspired table with colors from the American flag. Beautiful white and blue linens in delicate patterns are a great backdrop for the gorgeous bouquets in white and red. Plates in similar color schemes also work to give this backyard BBQ scape a patriotic look. Place navy pinwheels on top and you’ve got a table chock full of texture and color! My favorite bit about the table? None of these items are kitsch so you can reuse everything in your day-to-day life.
A traditional affair
If you’re looking to set a more traditional table then this red, white, and blue wonder is for you! The mini American flags scattered around the table and inserted into the place settings are such a hallmark of the holiday. Instead of traditional place settings, go with the more informal route of creating a little pack that includes more napkins, straws, utensils, and whatever else your guests may need. Place them in these summery red pails for a table look that is perfect for the fun BBQ to come!
Sometimes a simple, elegant look is all you need! If you’re trying to err on the less cluttered side, then this table is perfect for you! I love how the colors are scattered around the table—from the striped runner, to the placemats, to the plates, and the napkins. Curating your tableware to just the basics, like these red napkins, means that you can reuse your pieces over and over again (I mean, won’t this table look amazing on Memorial Day as well?!?), perfect for those sticking to a budget!
Set a patriotic table without going too over-the-top! I love this one with its stark white base—perfect for a warm weather al fresco look. Complete the theme with a gorgeous bouquet of fresh flowers (in red and white, of course) and give a nod to the season—and the holiday!—with a small bowl of strawberries and blueberries on each setting.
