Let’s look to the stars!
If you’re a believer like me, zodiac signs can rule almost every aspect of your life. I’m taking that thought to the next level by using the stars as inspiration for my next tablescape! From bold looks—perfect for the fire signs—to calm and ethereal tables, I’ve searched high and low for amazing examples that really appeal to my inner nature. Check out my favorites below!
Aries: The Ram
Bold, brash, and fearless, this epic grazing table is not for the faint of heart—perfect for our Rams. I love the vibrant mix of colors, and especially the fiery oranges and reds that describe the Aries personality to a T. Keep the rest of the table simple with glass plates and flatware that won’t contrast with the eye catching and edible centerpiece.
Cancer: The Crab
Soft pastels and dainty roses come together in a classic and romantic tablescape for our natural nurturers. Combine soft pinks and creams throughout the table by matching your settings with the blooms in your runner, and add touches of gold for contrast and to complete the entire look.
Taurus: The Bull
A little bit earthy and yet beautifully refined, this tablescape reflects the Bull’s grounded nature that still enjoys the finer things in life. Keep the look romantic and wild by using a complementary color scheme of light seafoam green and natural foliage. The use of large minimalist ceramic plates, like the ones in this example, is a simple way to make your table stand out.
Leo: The Lion
Leos love being the center of attention and this tablescape reflects just that. Stray away from the usual fiery colors with a tropical, playful, and extremely eye-catching table in shades of blue. Touches of marigold and yellow pay homage to Leo’s traditional colors while keeping the look fun and flirty—perfect for Leo’s bold and expressive nature.
Gemini: The Twins
Vibrant and charming, this gorgeous tablescape is absolutely perfect for a Gemini. Small elements, like the hot pink wildflowers placed at the corner, incorporate Gemini’s whimsical and adventurous nature into the look. To literally interpret this sign’s theme, simple mirrored settings complete the arrangement without distracting from the overall rustic feel of the table.
Virgo: The Virgin
A gentle and beautiful Earth sign like Virgo requires an abundance of flora and fauna to showcase their love for nature. Virgos are also pragmatic and orderly, and this simple tablescape satisfies their extreme attention to detail while keeping the overall look unfussy. Don’t detract from the focal point and keep your settings plain and relaxed—I love ceramic plates and unpressed linens in shades of gray for a more natural look.
Libra: The Scales
Seek balance, beauty, and harmony with this glamorous tablescape. As an artistic sign with expensive taste, Libras prefer over the top décor in heavy finishes—like gold or copper. This black-flecked tablecloth is the perfect backdrop for a gold themed setting with touches of red. Balance your table out and keep the look airy by using light colors like white or ivory throughout your arrangement.
Capricorn: The Goat
As a straightforward and no nonsense sign, structure is the name of the game for my Capricorn friends: embody that with this modern geometric tablescape. Wood finishes blend with an all-white palette to appeal to the Capricorn’s sense of natural aesthetics and elegance. Add height to your look by using taper candles in geometric holders, which can double as place card holders as well.
Scorpio: The Scorpion
An intense sign like Scorpio’s calls for a dark tablescape that brings to mind introspection and deep observation. These constellation plates are not only beautiful, but they also stick to the astrological theme perfectly. Keep the rest of the table moody by using muted hues in gray and black, and use a dark gold metallic finish for your chargers and flatware to really allow the vibrant deep blue of the plates to pop.
Aquarius: The Water Bearer
Take this sign at face value with this fantastic aquatic-themed tablescape. Deep blue and indigo hues complement the elegant settings to create a dreamy table, while the layered glass plates give a watery vibe to the entire arrangement. Add some height and texture to your tablescape by placing sprigs of wildflowers in the same color scheme in dainty Venetian glass containers—I promise the finished look will be both ethereal and polished.
Sagittarius: The Archer
Bring to mind the adventurous Sagittarius spirit with this bold, asymmetrical, and eclectic tablescape. I love the wild palette in contrasting shades—from the blues of the taper candles and glassware to the pops of red throughout the entire table. So what’re the secrets to keeping the look fun and fresh instead of busy and unorganized? Unite the colors with a softer shade, like the yellow hues in this example, and keep your patterns to a minimum.
Pisces: The Fish
Invoke your dreamy and artistic Pisces nature with this romantic pastel tablescape in muted hues of gray and lilac. Keep the arrangement feminine with a soft runner—I love silky chiffons for a light and airy look—that contrasts with the simplicity of the minimalist stoneware plates. A classic floral centerpiece and amethyst and quartz geodes placed around the table add texture to an otherwise plain setting. Tie it all together with touches of gold in the accents and in the details.
